Recently, in this Happy New Year post I wrote about some great tips Flylady had to offer to help get your year going great. One of her tips was an inspiration page. She talks about taking time to write down inspiring quotes or things that encourage you. She says to make a habit of making time to read this inspiration. I thought this was a great idea and here is how I am putting it into action!
My crafty friend Casey at The World According To Grace gave me a beautiful flower for Christmas. She made it out of scrapbook paper with Bible verses on it. It has a clip on the back of it so you can put it on your Christmas tree as an ornament. Now that Christmas has passed, I decided to give it another use. I call it my Inspiration Jar.
I used that little clip to fasten that gorgeous Bible verse filled flower to a jar. Throughout the year I will be filling my little jar with inspiration. And I’m planning to visit this inspiration jar on a regular basis to help renew my mind.
Here are a few inspirers/encouragers that I’ve started with:
- Look for nectar (instead of dead things) –read more about this here
- Heaviness is not of His kingdom. Hold on to Him (casting all your cares on Him) and burdens are lightened (paraphrased from Sarah Young’s Jesus Calling: Enjoying Peace in His Presence
, January 8th)
- Come to Me for refreshment and renewal. Let the light of My presence soak into you, as you focus your thoughts on Me. Sarah Young’s Jesus Calling: Enjoying Peace in His Presence
, January 2nd.
Thanks so much for joining me today as I link up with Amanda from A Royal Daughter. With so much negativity and busyness coming our way on a regular basis, how do you keep yourself renewed in God’s truth/inspiration?

I’ve heard great things about Jesus Calling! It might go on my list of to-dos for next year!
I am really loving it. In fact, I downloaded the kid’s version this morning to do with my kiddos after breakfast. I’m so glad you stopped by!:)
