If you are reading this blog you have probably heard of The No Poo Method of keeping your hair clean. People who try this do it to save money and to avoid the chemicals found in regular shampoos. Usually baking soda and water are used to replace shampoo, and apple cider vinegar and water are used as a conditioner. Other combinations are used, but those I mentioned are the most common. After much consideration, I decided to try it out for myself. I’ve read online about it working for lots of people. Surely it could work for me too.
No Poo and Me. Well…we lasted about two months. I really wanted it to work out. It is so much cheaper than buying a “natural” or “organic” shampoo. I always have baking soda and apple cider vinegar in my pantry for baking and cooking, so I wouldn’t have to get any new ingredients.
If you take a closer look in the photo above from our trip to Tennessee, you can tell that my hair is doing it’s own thing. There is no soft flow happening. The No Poo method left my hair covered in a thick film that I just couldn’t get past. I tried castile soap instead of the baking soda and water mixture. Same results. Sometimes it wasn’t so bad, but I just couldn’t quite get my hair to do what I wanted it to do. So I switched. Very recently I switched to an “organic” shampoo. It feels niceJ
My family went for a bike ride the other day. As we were loading the bikes back into his truck at the end of our ride, my hubby asked me if I was pregnant. He reminded me that when I was pregnant with our first kiddo, my hair was shiny and had lots of volume. I replied, “No. I just used shampoo.”

I’ve never done the “no poo” method – but I use shampoo & conditioner by Diva Curl that is called “no poo”. It is super low in harmful chemicals, and my hair loves it. But it’s pretty expensive.
Well, it works for ya! Your curls look good girl:)
